TRO at 2006 GREEN COUNTRY HAMFEST

By:  Steve Miller - AA5V TRO Treasurer

The TRO booth at the 2006 Green Country Hamfest (GCHF) was a success once again and it was a bit profitable, too!

Before the hamfest ever started, Ben Joplin - WB5VST (the TRO's new President) and myself tried to bring in some equipment donated to Ben by an estate that he (Ben) is going to split the proceeds between the TRO and the widow.  "Tried" is about all we got to do before almost all was sold.  We had planned on bringing it in and pricing it before the public entered at 1700.  Lesson learned: Do not plan on entering the hamfest without your pricing already set.  The dealers will drive you nuts!
THANK YOU Fred Williams KD5NBR and Ed Compos K5CRQ who tended the booth on Friday night.  Fred - KD5NBR, Ed - K5CRQ and Chris Reeves - KE5GET for handling the table Saturday.  There were a couple new members signed up and a few membership renewals over the two days.  A lot of rag chewing, fun and amateur radio equipment.

Lurene Ockerman - KB5BQB and Mark Conklin N7XYO (Green Country committee - Public Relations) did an excellent job on the microphone keeping everyone up to date on the goings on at the hamfest.

Another great showing at the Green Country Hamfest for the TRO!
