NEW MEETING LOCATION FOR TRO!
Last month we gave Ricardo’s Mexican Restaurant, 5629 E 41st Street, a test drive.  This is at the east end of Southroads Shopping Center, 41st & Hudson.  The meeting room is downstairs, but it has a door for direct access from the parking lot, so if you have a problem using stairs, just ring the doorbell.  The door is to the left of the main entrance, between 2 large windows.
The room is also spacious, and has interior doors that allow us to be isolated from the rest of the customers.
There was a little mix up concerning the room, so we had to share with another group.  I believe if we can get our wires uncrossed, Ricardo’s is worth another test drive.
The food is good, and you can find their menu on their website: ricardostulsa.com.  Don’t like Mexican?  Well, Ricardo’s does have a few non-Mexican items, and Desi Wok, Panera Bread, and TGI Friday’s are also nearby.
The program this month will be something weather related by Steve Piltz, KA9MLL, Meteorologists In Charge at Tulsa NWS.
Meeting is the usual date and time: 28 MAR at 1900 (7 PM).  Come early if you want to eat, or at least to get a good seat!

Membership Fees Are Due
Membership fees became due on 01 MAR.

Fees are $25.00 for a year, $30.00 family, and $375.00 lifetime.

How to pay? Several ways...

Mail a check to the address at the top of this Bulletin.

Or show up in person at a monthly meeting and pay our Treasurer, Steve Miller, AA5V. This month's meeting is on the 28th at Ricardo’s, 41st & Hudson, 7 PM.  Come early to eat, or to just get a good seat!

What if you want to do it the 21st Century way, online? Well, if you have a PayPal account, you can. You sign in to your account, select the Send and Request Money feature, then select Pay for Goods or Services.. The system will ask for an email, use wlmailhtml:wa5lvt@tulsahamradio.org. Then once you’ve entered the email, set theamount, add the description, “2017 TRO Membership Dues for < your name & callsign >,” designate the checking account or debit/credit card you wish to use, and submit.  Both you and Steve should receive confirmation emails when the payment is processed.  If you need additional help, contact me or Steve.

If you haven't yet joined for the first time, please go to the club website and download the membership application form and mail it in with a copy of your license, or bring those with you to a meeting.

To see if you are a current member, you can check the roster at:

Your dues are important to the club, for they help keep the repeaters on the air in good working order!

Everyone Keeps Getting Older.. Including The TRO
The 50th anniversary of the TRO is coming up this year.  The state of Oklahoma granted the charter on 07 JUL 1967.  Fifteen years ago we held a special event station at Helmerich Park on Riverside Drive to mark our 35th anniversary, and we are looking at doing the same this year.  Do you have any other ideas for how we can celebrate?  If so, send your ideas to me, TRO Vice President Paul Young at wlmailhtml:ke5ehm@tulsahamradio.org, or TRO Activity Chairman Kenneth Baucum, KG5CBM, at wlmailhtml:kg5cbm@tulsahamradio.org.

#####
What's On The Program?
In order to make our meetings more fun, interesting, and useful for our members, the Executive Committee has decided to get back to having programs every month.  But we need your help.  Do you have an idea for a program?  If so, let us know!
Are you curious about some aspect of ham radio, and would like to see a program on the topic?  Let us know!
You don't have to put on the program, but if you are able and willing to do so, that would be great!  Just tell us your idea, and we will work on putting it together.
The programs don't have to be about ham radio.  Hams tend to be technical people, so anything technical or scientific will do.
By the way, we used to tour a TV or broadcast radio station, or the Tulsa EOC, or the NWS Office once a year, but we haven't done that in about a decade.  Let us know if you would like to go on such a tour, and where.
Send you ideas to TRO Vice President Paul Young at wlmailhtml:ke5ehm@tulsahamradio.org.

Amateur Radio Operators Needed - Memorial Marathon in Oklahoma City, Sunday 30 APR 2017

Amateur radio operators are needed in all parts of the marathon: at medical stations, water trucks, position vehicles, command post and many more. If a runner or spectator become injured and is in need of emergency medical attention, it could be disastrous trying to call for help on an already overloaded system. Amateur radio would still be reliable for situations like this. To sign up simply go to Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon. To make sure that you are taken to the correct sign up page be sure to use the code: PSC17 If you have any questions please contact Mike Rockey, KE5EQC at wlmailhtml:gjnmerock1@cox.net.
