TRO HAS FOUND A New Meeting Place! (...for now)
The meeting space in the Delta Café, 11101 E 41st St (41st & Garnett) worked out fairly well for the December meeting/Christmas Party), so we will have our regular membership meeting there on Tuesday January 24, 2017. Background noise wasn’t as bad as Mazzio’s, but we will continue looking for a quieter place. We have someone looking at Ricardo’s on Skelly Drive, and we might eventually move back to Tally’s because he is working on adding another separate dining room that should be isolated from the noise of other customers.
#####
January TRO Meeting, Tuesday the 24th, 7 PM.
One regular occurrence at our January meeting is the nomination of officers. The Nominating Committee will present a slate of officers, but members can nominate themselves or another member. So, if you wish to serve the club as President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer or Trustee, this will be your opportunity to speak up. You can also railro... uh, name someone else as a candidate. Of course, to speak up, you must first show up!
The candidates’ bios will appear in the February issue of The Signal, and the election will be held at the meeting that month. Officers take office on March 1st.
#####
Membership Fees Are Due
Along with the nomination and election of officers, membership fees become due on 01 MAR.
Fees are $25.00 for a year, $30.00 family, and $375.00 lifetime.
How to pay?
Mail a check to the address at the top of this Bulletin.
Or show up in person at a monthly meeting and pay our Treasurer, Steve Miller, AA5V. This month's meeting is on the 24th at the Delta Cafe, 41st & Garnett, 7 PM. Come early to eat, or to just get a good seat!
Or you can use Pay Pal, but I will have to look up the instructions on how to do that. I will post them here later.
If you haven't yet joined for the first time, please go to the club website and download the membership application form and mail it in with a copy of your license, or bring those with you to a meeting.

To see if you are a current member, you can check the roster at:

Your dues are important to the club, for they help keep the repeaters on the air in good working order!

Everyone Keeps Getting Older.. Including The TRO
The 50th anniversary of the TRO is coming up this year. The state of Oklahoma granted the charter on 07 JUL 1967. Fifteen years ago we held a special event station at Helmerich Park on Riverside Drive to mark our 35th anniversary, and we are looking at doing the same this year. Do you have any ideas for how we can celebrate? If so, send your ideas to me, TRO Vice President Paul Young at
ke5ehm@tulsahamradio.org, or TRO Activity Chairman Kenneth Baucum, KG5CBM, at
kg5cbm@tulsahamradio.org.
#####
What's On The Program?
In order to make our meetings more fun, interesting, and useful for our members, the Executive Committee has decided to get back to having programs every month. But we need your help. Do you have an idea for a program? If so, let us know!
Are you curious about some aspect of ham radio, and would like to see a program on the topic? Let us know!
You don't have to put on the program, but if you are able and willing to do so, that would be great! Just tell us your idea, and we will work on putting it together.
The programs don't have to be about ham radio. Hams tend to be technical people, so anything technical or scientific will do.
By the way, we used to tour a TV or broadcast radio station, or the Tulsa EOC, or the NWS Office once a year, but we haven't done that in about a decade. Let us know if you would like to go on such a tour, and where.
