Final Word on 2015 Public Service
Only one public service event remains on the calendar for 2015.  The Toys for Tots is a nationwide campaign by the United States Marine Corps that benefits children of low-income families.  The Tulsa Toy Run is conducted by ABATE to provide toys for children in the Tulsa Metro.  TARC helps to line up the motorcycles, some of which are quite interesting!
THANK YOU to everyone who has or will help with public service in 2015, no matter which club organizes the comm support!

Are You Ready To Party?
If you are, you have two opportunities to party with your fellow hams.  Both of these are family-friendly events.
The Broken Arrow Amateur Radio Club will have their Christmas party at the Asbury United Methodist Church on Monday, 07 DEC 15.  A cost of $15 is required for your meal, and so to make sure they have enough, they ask that you make reservations by contacting BAARC President Ray Richardson, WB5JJA.
The very next night, TRO and TARC will once again come together for a joint Christmas party at Tally’s Good Food Café, 11th & Yale.  No cost is required up front, but the food there is worth the price!

New Net - Oklahoma ARES VOIP Net
The inaugural Oklahoma ARES Voice-over-IP net will be held on December 7th beginning at 9:15 PM.  The net will continue on a weekly basis every Monday night.
Many thanks to Larry W5LHG, who will be net control.  Thanks also to the Tulsa Digital Radio Club for use of the temporary VOIP bridge that connects the Echolink and IRLP conferences to D-star reflector.  Other VOIP systems will be supported upon request.
Local repeaters are encouraged to link into the net.  If you are a D-star repeater, link to Reflector 052B (Oklahoma Reflector).  If you are an Echolink repeater, connect to conference 7203 (*WX_TALK*).  If you are an IRLP repeater, connect to IRLP 9213.
Individual users may also connect using D-star dongles and hotspots connected to Reflector 052B.  Echolink applications are available for the IPhone, Android OS, and Windows OS that also allow individual participation via internet.

APRS & Soundcard Modem Training  Saturday 12 DEC 15 1300 – 1500 hrs.
The Tulsa Digital Radio Club will be having an training session from 1 PM to 3 PM on Saturday, December 12th to cover APRS and Soundcard Modem setup.  It will be held at the Broken Arrow Central Library at 300 W. Broadway in Broken Arrow.
If you've never done APRS before because you didn't have a TNC, that shouldn't stop you.  We'll show you how to get APRS running using the UZ7HO sound modem or Dire Wolf program with a variety of radios.  Feel free to bring a computer and radio to the training session as it will be "hands on".
If you plan on attending, please RSVP to Jeff Scoville, AE5ME at ae5me@yahoo.com with your radio model and computer operating system so that we can prepare for that particular combination.
For more information about the Tulsa Digital Radio Club, you can check their website or their Facebook page:
