Meteorology on
the Web #3
So far, I have
given a link to
A Short Course
In Basic
Meteorology and
discussed Jeff
Haby’s website,
The Weather
Prediction.
Now, you might
have decided to
search for other
meteorology
websites or
other
resources.
While you are
reading through
these materials,
you might
encounter words,
terms and
phrases you
haven’t seen
before. The
resource you are
using may or may
not have a
glossary. Even
if it does, that
glossary might
not have a
definition or
explanation that
is clear to
you. For an
alternate, you
can access the
American
Meteorological
Society’s Online
Glossary at
http://glossary.ametsoc.org/wiki/Main_Page.
You do not have
to be an AMS
member.
TRO Public
Relations Events
18 MAY 2013:
The TRO has two
opportunities to
present ham
radio to the
public next
Saturday
Camp Bandage
Camp Bandage is
a one day event
where medical
professionals
and others teach
children first
aid, health, and
safety. Time
and location:
1000 to 1500
hrs., Immanuel
Lutheran Church,
400 N Aspen Ave,
Broken Arrow, OK
TRO members are
invited to come
out and help the
club inform
people about ham
radio’s role in
public safety
during severe
weather,
emergencies and
disasters.
Storm Chaser Car
Show
Second Chance
Saferooms in
Catoosa, OK is
hosting a storm
chaser car show
along with other
festivities at
their company
event. This
will be the
fourth year of
the event and we
have decided to
extend the
invitation to
storm chasers
beyond the Tulsa
area. In the
past we have had
exotic animals
and various
foods along with
an air cannon
(like at Texas
Tech) which we
shoot 2x4’s at
walls and old
cars. Storm
Chaser car shows
have been a hit
with the
locals. There
is something to
do for the whole
family. Time
and location
are: 1100 to
1600, Rogers
Landing Public
Recreation Area
- Route 66 at
the Verdigris
River Catoosa,
OK. This event
is open to all
chasers
If you wish to
participate in
either event,
