449.950 - 444.950 MHz Repeater

TRO UHF Repeater - WA5LVT:

On March 10, 2007 -
The 449.95/444.95 repeater is alive from atop the Autumn Oaks building at 71st & Yale.

Thanks to Bud - WA5QDZ for reviving one of the GE Master II's, running it from his home for 6 months and finally our installing it where the ATV repeater was.

Bud - WA5QDZ and myself (Steve-AA5V) went to attack installing the repeater this morning. Moving it from Bud's shack to the top floor at Autumn Oaks. Well, the repeater was 250 or so pounds and it had to go up 4 1/2 flights of stairs and we figured out pretty quick we needed a third person. Thank You Thank You Thank You Ed - K5CRQ for being able to break away on your Saturday morning to come to south Tulsa to help us out. Anyway, we moved it into place, Bud attached the coax, plugged in the AC cord and flipped the switch and the repeater was on the air!

There is a problem with the controller for the machine so there is no ID or courtesy tone. If you use the machine please throw a "WA5LVT REPEATER" in your transmission until we can resolve that little ID problem.

If you try the repeater, come back here and give some reports so we can begin to plot it's coverage and things. We need audio reports, signal reports, your output power, your antenna type and where you were at when you collected the report.

73's and Thanks again Bud & Ed,
AA5V
